BioMeteorology, Engineering and Website Design are fascinating! While I was in middle school I can remember staying up late, watching the summer storms pass by. I would be glued to my television waiting for an update on a Tornado Warning or for the latest doppler radar images to come in. Each morning in the winter I would wake up and try to guess the temperature outside before running downstairs to read the thermometer. Likewise with engineering, I would be amazed while riding over a bridge in the back of my parent's car that we could be suspended over the water without falling in. Once I reached high school, I started to take an interest in Math and Physics. I took as many physical science classes that I could. It was also in high school that I started to become interested in website development and design. As freshmen, a friend and I split the cost of server space and a .com domain to start our own website. I would read my older brother's college textbooks about Flash and HTML to learn everything I could about the web. As a Valedictorian graduate of my high school in 2006, I had a lot of opportunities presented to me for higher education. I choose to stay close to home and attend Spoon River College. SRC had a strong website design program and offered an active honor's program. After spending two years at Spoon River College, I graduated with an Associates of Art, Associates of Science and a Certificate in Website Design. I immediately began working toward my bachelor's degree at Western Illinois University. Unable to decide which major I liked more, I chose to double major in both Meteorology and Engineering. Which brings me to the present. I am currently working toward my degree in Meteorology and Engineering and I'm expecting to graduate in May of 2012.
