		John R Parkinson Who is John Parkinson? John was born in Canton, Illinois on November 12, 1987. His parents are Mike and Diane Parkinson and he has one older brother Jason. John has remained in Canton throughout his childhood and graduated Valedictorian from Canton High School with the Class of 2006. He continued his education at Spoon River College. In 2008 he graduated with an Associates in Art, an Associates in Science and a Certificate in Web Design. John is currently a Meteorology student at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. Educational Experience High School John started high school in August of 2002. As a freshman, he started to participate in extracurricular activities. By the end of his high school career, he had been actively involved with numerous activities. Some of which included Golf Team, Track, Chess Club, Math Team, Spanish Club, American Legion's Premiere Boy's State, Student Council and National Honor Society. John graduated as a Valedictorian of his class on May 19, 2006. Student Council John served as a Student Council Representative his Freshman and Sophomore year of high school. When he was only a Junior, he was elected to Vice President and Chairman of the School Spirit Committee. In his Senior year, the student body elected him Student Council President. During his career in student council, John attended numerous workshops and activities. He was also able to attend the Illinois Association of Student Councils State Convention three consecutive years. John was invited to make a presentation at the 2005 National Association of Student Councils National Conference (the first person from his school to ever attend a national student council conference). College After high school, John continued his education at Spoon River College in Canton, Illinois. He was actively involved with the Honors Program. In the fall of 2006 John was elected Treasurer of the Student Senate, and during his sophomore year he served as President. In May of 2008, John graduated with an Associates in Art, an Associates in Science and a Certificate in Web Design. John is currently a junior at Western Illinois University in Macomb.
